Mohamad Nikpour (b. 1992 Tehran, Iran) is a music producer and Sound Designer. Started his activity under stage name “ZAB” experimentally and self-taught since 2012. His works covers a wide range of electronic music including Ambient, Downtempo, Chill, Noise and Glitch. The main elements of his music are synthesizers and field recordings. He tries to create atmospheric spaces with textures and synthesized samples which are inspired by Iranian traditional music and World music.
In 2018, He started an ambient duo project with Shervin Shamlou called “Sahub Shang”. This name is taken from “Shahub Sang” which in Persian means “Meteorite”. The basic sounds of this project were recorded from nature. As well as focuses on animals and sonar elements of the cosmos. Another project called “Dance of Soul” formed in 2021, which he brings a new wave of samples and rhythms from native Iranian musicians. Also, He launched production services called “Tonal Room” in 2022, that provides services such as commissioned composition, Mixing and Mastering.
