ALI BALIGHI is an experimental composer. His works are mostly based on traditional Iranian folk music, with a tendency of also exploring microtonality and new instrumental perspectives. His compositional background also includes a wide variety of symphonic, chamber, and solo instrumental works; music for theatre productions; and theme music for film and television.
In the summer of 2017, Ali won the composition competition in The Iranian-Canadian Composers of Toronto and the Canadian Music Centre for his Daramad for solo accordion. In the fall of 2017, he won second place in the composition competition of Radio Javan (Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting) for a little piece for orchestra symphony. His works have additionally performed at contemporary music festivals in Iran, Portugal, Finland, and Canada.

Ali received his Bachelors of Music in cello performance from the Tehran University of Art, where he graduated with highest honors. Ali has also worked as a University Instructor of Music at the Elmi-Karbodi of Alborz, Azad University, Tehran Conservatory of Music where he has taught a wide variety of courses including cello performance, music theory, sight singing, ear training, musical form, and a beginner course in music composition.

Rarely does experimentation merge so seamlessly the analog with the digital. Tegh's textures at times clash and at times befriend Poursamadi's strings, creating a landscape as fragmented as the present, as nostalgic as the past, and as unitary as the future.
